Achievers Video Link is Conference Highlight
Earlier this week, Achievers International participated in Meet The Future 2009, an event held by London Young Chamber on the first day of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The highlight of the day was a live link up to Luella High School in America, one of the schools participating in Achievers this year.
Around 180 students aged between 11 and 19 attended the day which focused on world trade, importing and exporting and cultural awareness in business. The students heard from a variety of speakers, including Achievers International, about how to do business abroad and learn the skills they need to succeed.
But it was the live link up that proved to be the most popular part of the day, allowing students in the UK and USA to discuss global enterprise, the enterprise activities they do at their school, and Achievers. It also gave them a chance to find out what differences there are in each others countries. The day was a great success with lots of positive feedback from both the students and teachers.
Luella High School is partnered with Yale College in Wrexham, UK. Their company 'iSell' exports and imports products to and from their partner.
LYC supports schools to establish Young Chamber Councils who are groups of students that lead enterprise in their schools by developing links with businesses through the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. You can read more about LYC here.
