Achievers Student Wins Enterprising Female Award
A student from Beacon Hill High School has won the Make Your Mark Clubs 'Most Enterprising Female' award for her work on Achievers International. Chloe Peters led her Achievers International student company as part of the schools Make Your Mark Club with great success.
Beacon Hill's student company, FairTrade FairyTale, are linked with Noonkodin School in Tanzania and Chloe has led her team in researching what products they want to import and in promoting fair trade in her community.
She even invited her local councillors in to school so she could show them what her student company had been doing and how important fair trade is to her and her team. She is also worked hard to help out their less financially well off counterparts in Tanzania including "finding free stuff to help their corporate image."
The Make Your Mark Club is a network of enterprise groups in schools across the UK. It aims to give students the freedom to develop and pursue entrepreneurial ideas throughout the academic year. Martha Jennings, Education Officer at Make Your Mark said "It's great to be able to recognise the hard work that Chloe has put into her enterprise group, through our Make Your Mark Club Awards. I'm sure she will be an inspiration to her fellow students, and that the work she is doing will build on the fantastic enterprise activities at Beacon Hill High School."
