Achievers Symposium at Gresham College
This week saw the Enterprise Education Trust hold a symposium at Gresham College in London about the teaching of enterprise. Featuring Achievers International, the event saw three speakers discussing enterprise, its place in education and how the Trust is delivering enterprise education.
Sir Paul Judge opened the symposium by looking at the role of enterprise and wealth creation in the global economy. Focusing on risk and perceived risk, he discussed the fact that risk taking is core to progress and that many people are discouraged to be enterprising because of the risk they feel of failing.
He was followed by Professor Prue Huddleston of Warwick University who looked at what young people think of enterprise based on her evaluation of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) programme which is also part of the Trust.

Sally Broom of Your Safe Planet
Finally Sally Broom, a young entrepreneur and the Director of Your Safe Planet , discussed her own experiences of enterprise and the reasons why entrepreneurship is so important on both a local and global level. Sally has been helping to link the Achievers International network to her network of contacts all over the world and has already helped to create some fantastic partnerships.
Each speaker followed their presentation with a question and answer session which highlighted some interesting debates from the guests who attended. Gresham College provides free lectures to the public on a variety of topics and the symposium is available to view here . Podcasts from the day are also available on iTunes.
