Fairtrade Fortnight 2012 (27 Feb - 11 March)

Make a meaningful contribution to raising awareness for ethical business, and take a step towards Fairtrade.

Fairtrade Fortnight 2012 is taking place this year between 27 February and 11 March.

This is a truly unique opportunity for Achievers schools to encourage people and businesses to become ethical consumers, whilst also raising funds for your Achievers student company.

Every student company will need to raise money to fund their Achievers activities (such as sourcing and trading products). Fairtrade Fortnight gives you the opportunity to raise money for your student company whilst also taking a step for Fairtrade, and towards a fairer world.

Ideas for events:
There are a great number of events your school can hold as part of Fairtrade Fortnight 2012. A great idea is to have a fashion show at your school raising awareness of Fairtrade cotton and encouraging your school to adopt Fairtrade cotton in uniforms, or general Fairtrade products throughout the school.
You can also organise a coffee morning, dance shows - showcasing different types of dances from Latin America, Africa etc. Have fun with it!

There are a great many benefits for holding an event this year, for everyone involved - and whether or not you are participating in Achievers International, you and your school can still take a step towards Fairtrade and make a difference.
